I was loving tried to be good.

 The torture and the punishments
I didn’t know it was rotten luck.”

The Politics & Experience of Ritual Abuse : Beyond Disbelief
 £

The author offers insights into why ritual abuse has become such a contested issue, while enabling the reader to explore the meaning of the term for themselves through first-person accounts. Drawing on her research with adults who have identified themselves as survivors, the author argues that the wholesale dismissal of such accounts as "false memories" produced by a "moral panic" may be somewhat premature.

Where Angels Fear : Ritual Abuse in Scotland
 by Laurie Matthew
 £

"If anyone is hoping to read horror stories in this book, forget it. They quite simply are not there. My aim is to expose the abusers and their actions as much as possible, and provide as much information as I possibly can about how the whole thing works, what they do... what it does to survivors and how people can help survivors."

"Despite all the odds, survivors of ritual abuse are beginning to speak out about their experiences, and some people... are beginning to listen to them and support them. This book is an attempt to break down the isolation of survivors and supporters of survivors. It is also an attempt to give useful information and raise awareness of the issues involved so that the secrecy surrounding this sort of abuse can be broken."  By a worker with 20 years experience.
